Photos of the Blizzard of 2003
Beginning on St. Patrick's Day 2003, Colorado was hit with the worst snowstorm the state had seen in more than 90 years. Over three days, Denver was blanketed by 3 to 5 feet of snow, with drifts reaching 7 feet in some areas. Some 25,000 Colorado residents lost power, while many others were stranded in their cars for days as they tried to leave ski resorts for lower elevations.
Jenni and I lost power at our home in the middle of the afternoon on March 17, and were informed by Xcel energy that it would be several days before our power came back on. They suggested that we make arrangements to stay elsewhere. Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us in!

My dad shoveling a path out of the garage.

Snow drifts on the deck behind my parents' house.
(Their table and chairs are almost completely buried!)

As you can see, we didn't quite make it back home after journeying out into the blizzard, so Jenni's car is stuck in front of the next-door neighbors' house.
